From day one I’ve been obsessed with Kelsey and Adam. They’re the ultimate couple – smart, carefree, funny, personable. The list goes on and I’m sure everyone that knows them agrees.
When I first met them, it was at their engagement session. I was within days of my due date and we were shooting at the vineyards of Kickapoo Creek Winery, completely unaware that Kelsey was pregnant with their sweet little boy, Owen, at the time, too. They were super carefree and I loved that about them. My engagement sessions always involve a lot of effort – running, jumping, dancing, lifting (lol, seriously) – and they were down for it all and then some! We laughed so hard our cheeks hurt by the end of it, and the wait for their wedding has literally been killing me ever since! I couldn’t wait to see the vision that Kelsey explained to me come to life, and man oh mannnnn did she deliver.
Two weeks leading up to the wedding, it was pretty back and forth whether or not it would downpour on us all day. Obviously we always prepare for the worst and hope for the best, but the we didn’t get Mother Nature’s best this day. It rained the entire morning, then the entire afternoon, and finally stopped just in time for our “sunset” pictures (sans sunset). But ya know what? IT WORKED OUT SO PERFECTLY. Turns out, The Cannery had just finished up their Bridal Suite addition and it 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 gorgeous 👏🏼. It’s an all-white, rustic modern building just feet from the main venue with exposed wood, thick drapery, and A TON of natural light. I’d call it nothing short of a photographer’s dream. Because they had this room available, we were able to knock out all of our portraits and first look in there and didn’t have to face the downpour – it was perfection (and a killer spot for some ultra-classy formals). I can’t even type out how much I love this place. It’s that good.
In the end, their ceremony may have been moved indoors and Kels may have gotten a parking ticket on her own wedding night, but it was the most perfect, beautiful day and they absolutely deserved it! One last congrats to the Tanners! CHEERS.

When KayDee first got in touch with me, I immediately loved her enthusiasm for her session. She was psyched, super involved, and had some awesome ideas of her own! This is her and Jason’s first baby, that I found out they’re naming Drake (SO CUTE), so this was a super exciting day!
When I got to their house I immediately fell in love because it’s old, has a ton of windows and high ceilings, and a lot of quirkiness just like ours. We chose to move our session indoors because it was was supposed to thunderstorm all day long but we didn’t want to reschedule, which means I got to get extra creative! I met their supa cute pups (we even snuck them in a few!) and they have a golden just like we do. My fav! KayDee also found this gorgeous nursery near their home that we got to explore and I’m obsesseddddd. I’m such a sucker for a greenery overload!
KayDee and Jason are the sweetest and I’m beyond honored they chose me to document their journey into parenthood. I love them forever and ever! Keep scrolling to see my absolute favorites from this day!
I looooove this family 😍 Even though I haven’t known them very long, it feels like it’s been a lifetime. Natalie first contacted me when she was pregnant with Aston, and her and her hubby Dave braved the cold and snow for the most extra maternity session I’ve ever done. Hell, I still talk about it to this day! It’s one of my all-time favorites, so of course I was pumped when they wanted me to document Aston’s first year. It’s a little bittersweet that this was our last session, but I have every intention of forcing them into family photos at least twice a year 😂Too much?!
Sweet, sweet little Aston. How awesome it’s been to see him grow from the tiniest little peanut to such a little man! He’s seriously the smiliest baby ever and I can’t even with his cute little face. I just want to squeeze him all da time. Also, I can’t wrap up this little love note without mentioning Natalie’s style and the outfits she always puts Aston and herself in. I always know I’ve got nothing to worry about and don’t even give her wardrobe inspiration anymore. I’ve said it before, but I would totally hire her as my personal stylist and if I ever stop caring about sitting around in no pants and a messy bun so much, I will.
P.S. this is my in-home studio! It’s a constant work in progress, but I’m psyched to finally have it close enough to completion to put it into use. Hit ya girl up to avoid the cold, do allll the cozy in-home sessions, or shoot some boudoir for your man. I’m obsessed!
Rachael and Eric are the sweetest, cutest couple on the planet. We had the most perfect fall day to frolic in the warm sun and inhale an infinite amount of little golden fuzzies. But the golden fuzzies in the sun? Like magical unicorn glitter. I’m pumped to share my favorites from their session!
PSA: this wedding will give you allllllll the design inspiration, including a tinted wedding dress, mismatched bridesmaid dresses, and a perfect fall color palette. I'm obsessing over this gallery so so much.
I've known Rachel for years and she's one of the kindest, most stylish, Target-loving beauties I've ever met. She was another one of my very first models when I started photography so many years ago, so I obviously jumped out of my shoes when she asked if I would be her wedding photographer. Like... YES girl! I literally died and came back to life when I saw her dress (the most amazing grey BHLDN gown), and couldn't shut up about the fact that she went with mismatched bridesmaids dresses of all different styles and colors (my absolute freakin' fav). Like, this wedding is goals and you'll totally agree with me.
Rach and Ethan have been my weather-plagued couple since day one. We had to reschedule their engagement session several times due to snow, rain, and just overall sucky weather. When Rachel found out she was pregnant with Elsie they made the decision to postpone their wedding from spring 2018 to fall 2018, which ended up being the best decision ever because their spring wedding date ended up being the freak snowstorm that dropped a foot of snow, whiteouts, and basically totally un-driveable conditions.
So when we saw the forecast for their fall wedding date, we weren't surprised to find that they were calling for unnatural freezing temperatures and rain. Fortunately, we ended up with partly sunny skies (still freezing, but we can't complain) and got to spend most of our day outdoors in the most perfect light. Seriously, the most perfect! Faith in Mother Nature: restored.
I'm so stoked to share my favorites with you!
